This beautiful plate was made by the regional Asheville NC potter, Annette J Keesee using a handbuilding technique of rolling out flat slabs of clay and shaping them. The delicately carved flowers were inspired by her garden and the Oriental styled pond at her mountain home. She has glazed this piece in a three part process requiring three kiln firings. The plate is first bisque fired to harden it for painting. She then pained the plate with a layer of watercolor glazes for a second firing. For the third and final firing she painted the piece with a clear crackle glaze that gives it an aged antique look and feel. This large platter will make a beautiful statement piece on display or a piece everyone will be asking about if you are serving up a meal at a dinner party. Handwashing is recommended. Lead free and food safe. This puece measures 11.5" wide.
